I find the robin's monotone autumn song very evocative and just discovered that it is used to establish and defend their territory, being very aggressive little birds.

@quietpurplehaze By birds the singing is mostly for two reasons, to find a partner and/or to defend there territory. Great shot of yours. Ours is more red/brown. fav.
New info to me too, Beryl but I had noticed the difference between its tuneful song in the summer and the way it 'sings' now. Google did the rest!
