dapper

I find the robin's monotone autumn song very evocative and just discovered that it is used to establish and defend their territory, being very aggressive little birds.

Cropped square on Picasa 3 for square september.
A lovely capture Hazel ,never knew about his song tone was to deter others from his territory ! Something new to find out on 365 !!

@beryl

New info to me too, Beryl but I had noticed the difference between its tuneful song in the summer and the way it 'sings' now. Google did the rest!

Lovely colour plumage on his chest and I like the swirl of the perch he is on.

A great robin capture. Interesting information I usually know one is about by the chip chip chip trill they make.

The Robin is a very confident bird I think & not afraid to stand up for itself. He looks gorgeous here.

@quietpurplehaze By birds the singing is mostly for two reasons, to find a partner and/or to defend there territory. Great shot of yours. Ours is more red/brown. fav.
