We had a trip to the Art Gallery last week. It was really enjoyable and somewhat enlightening for me, too.
Here I am unashamedly trying to emulate a photographic entry which I saw in the open exhibition.
Something I have realised is that I have been taking portraits way, way before I started in a more formal way with my strangers' project.
The photos in my collage are drawn from various sources and times.
I liked an exhibition by Roger Mayne and a quote from Alan Stevenson who reviewed Roger's Amolfini Gallery Show in 1965:
"The camera, we are reminded, points in two directions, towards the photographer as well as the subject, so that it records not merely the surface play of light and dark, but makes a personal statement dependant on the sensitivity and intelligence which guides it."
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Southampton - several exhibitions on right now. But beware: it closes at 3 p.m. on a week day and the first time we arrived there at 2.50!! Weekends it's 5 p.m.
hmmmmm the quotation at the end of your narrative is a bit thought provoking Haze, perhaps a little too deep and too much thought in it . Cool mono montage
Nicely done- like a timeline of portraits. Each one is a photo unto itself but together they really do tell a story of family (even if they aren't really one!).

Thank you, Ann. And yes, the human family!
Thank you! Well, me too,Issi - could be worse!!!
Thanks for visit and comment, Phil. (I thought the quote was not too deep!!)
