Waiting to cross the road to return to my parked car, I noticed a guy with a professional film camera standing among the daffodils on the opposite grass verge. He was then joined by a young lady with a clipboard.
Having safely navigated through the traffic I asked, somewhat in jest, if they were photographing the daffodils.
I discovered that they were about to film a man walking round the corner, so stood back in order not to get in the frame.
Then we had a little chat: Matt is the cameraman, Anna the lady with the clipboard and James the walking-man subject.
I explained my photography and 365 and asked Matt for a photo and he duly posed for me, happy for me to use a shot without divulging the name of the TV programme.
They were then going to take clips around Bishops Waltham, the nearby market town, and I made my way to my car parked near South Pond, having given Matt my card in case he wanted to have a look at 365.
Strangers' project did cross my mind but they seemed busy and I had the wrong lens.
Brilliant capture Hazel full of interest, fine detail, lovely pose and composition, you never know just whats waiting around the corner to be captured:)
@quietpurplehaze I was going to put a message on today to apologise for my lack of comments over the last few weeks I've had some health issues and could not spend more than a few minutes at a time on my computer, hopefully I'm on the mend now:)
I only know the channel but no idea of the programme, when scheduled etc. If by some remote chance Matt is in touch with me I will ask and let you know.
We have our fair share of professional photographers/film makers at Paimpont too. Am fascinated by their ability to completely ignore ordinary life and their concentration on the job in hand. Matt seems to a good example of the genre.
My son has the same ability to concentrate on his voluntary work on a music site etc..............It is fascinating but can also sometimes be viewed in a different light!
I love that the capture makes him seem like he's still photographing the daffodils. Haha. Really cool that you got to have a pleasant conversation with them.
Great capture and interesting to see him at work. Funny because today when I was out with my daughter in her car we saw a Range Rover on the back of a flat bed trailer and in front was a pick up truck with camera men on filming it to look like it was being driven on the road .We gave them a wave as we passed.
The main sticking point for me to use this shot as a stranger was the lack of info about Matt, also I had not specifically asked him to be in the project. You may regard me as brave but it does not seem so - I am though sometimes a bit remiss in getting info in the right order or even getting it at all!!
@quietpurplehaze I still think you are brilliant! But what you say makes sense about not asking him too. I love your strangers series, always fascinating. You meet some wonderful people and your photos are always lovely.
You inspire me to be more courageous. I get out and take shots but so often don't make any attempt to introduce myself. I do so enjoy your commentaries and without question the accompanying images. I like the idea of having cards with me.
Thanks for your comment! I usually start by just talking to folk and then after a bit remember to introduce myself! I was resistant to the cards for a long time as I thought people might think that I was trying to charge them for portraits but my card stresses that I am an amateur photographer and itβs working OK.
Peter, thank you as ever for your comment. I had been to the physio so was really glad I took my camera as well.
Sorry to hear that Peter and hope you are feeling much better soon.

That's very common here and they are planted by the local councils.

Pat, if you change your mind, I would definitely like to watch it!

p.s. I got the idea of cards from @phil_howcroft who has helped me heaps with my photography.
