They look good against the wood. I have a bit of a problem with half and half.. not a satisfactory composition. One half usually dominates and not to the benefit of the other half. I would prefer a ratio of 2:1. You'd still get the contrast and it would seem more harmonious.

very lovely :)

@lostphojo

I have enough problems judging half and half and if it was 2:1 it would be harder for me to judge! The first time I participated n a half and half challenge I found it very strange but have got used to it now....

@quietpurplehaze Nobody is measuring! Of course you could do so on your camera's screen! I prefer to move it around until it feels right.

@lostphojo

Judge, not measure - still think 2:1 would be hard!!

A great contrast ....it must look wonderful in full bloom!

@quietpurplehaze Divide the space into 3 x 3 rectangles.... does that help? Works for me anyway! Maybe you've got a grid that does just that for you on the camera screen. Anyway, wisteria thrives on disturbed ground and doesn't care for ratios or arithmetic! :-)

@lostphojo

Rule of thirds?! What’s the definition of disturbed ground. I wonder.

The textured brown of the wood looks really nice with the delicate flowers. Makes a gorgeous half

Such good contrasts in each half -- texture, color, sizes -- well spotted.
