I am being a bit cheeky posting this as a puzzle and also for dec20words: outdoors

Ray found this seed pod outdoors whilst gardening a couple of days ago and brought it in for me to photograph and to guess which plant it came from.

I didn't know - do you?

Looks to me like a peony seed. I'd guess a tree peony but, of course, there may e other plants that have similar seeds.
