We were out with the scooter this afternoon when the rain started and after sheltering under a tree for a while we just had to get back to the car.
At home, I had to change everything except my underwear. Ray checked the garage as the drive slopes down towards the house and found the floor under water - lots of sweeping.
In the back garden the rain was gushing out from behind the shed as well as the stream overflowing. Luckily the garden slopes down from the house.
Yesterday Ray found a little black and white cat dead in the garden and, despite him putting up my home-made posters round and about with our phone number (in the rain) we still have not traced the owner as it had no visible identity and the local vet checked and it was not microchipped. A neighbour saw a cat hit on the road outside so I guess it just made it into our garden.
After a couple of fraught, wet and soggy days, here's a shot from a trip to Hilliers Arboretum in May!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Superb image beautifully capture and presented Hazel, we live on a hill and my garage and workshop are at the lowest point had to have drains across the drive put in to stop the water getting into then:)
Pretty flowers and a lovely colour and capture.
Sad end for the little cat someone wil be missing it. We have had a lot of flooding thankfully all gone and dried up now.
