Peter, the story is as follows: last year a friend gave Ray a packet of sweet pea seeds; he put them in the garage and forgot about them; late this summer he re-discovered them and planted them in pots, then in the garden with a cane 'wigwam'. Every day now there are sweet peas to pick but they are only in white, red and purple! Red is the main colour!!
This guy is bucking the trend of creepy crawlies that blend in with their background. Perhaps he was meant to be on one of the white sweet peas but took a wrong turn somewhere. :)
I guess that's possible! He was on the purple sweet pea for about 2 hours - I know because I was too lazy to fetch a camera when I first saw him and he kindly stayed until later in the afternoon!
