.....where Jane Austen lived her last days and died. She is buried in nearby Winchester Cathedral. The house is not open to the public and I think the inhabitants must get a bit tired of people trying to peer through the windows (or taking pics to put on 365.)
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
beautiful collage Hazel very interesting story too , Anne and i was in Winchester November just gone (2012) do not know how i missed this house . Thank you for sharing
@gerry To find this house you have to go to the cathedral and then on and out of the cathedral close into a street which is a little removed from the main street.
@quietpurplehaze thank you Hazel next time Anne and I visit Winchester i will let you know maybe we could meet up for a coffee I could then hope to me Jinks too.
Nice share Hazel and i think i'd probably get annoyed with people peering in at me if i were living there, although they must be used to it i'm guessing!
@pyrrhula I hardly dare say this but I am not a fan of the books of Jane Austen. I only know one other person with the same opinion - my friend Anne. When I admitted my view to some other friends, they thought I was being irreligious........ So I'll just keep quiet in future.
