from my archive and for the recent word of the day: 'panic'
I can hardly believe that I came down the mountain in France from Fort Liberia to Villefranche de Conflent via these underground steps: 1,000 of them and it took around 20 mins. (You'd never believe I suffer from claustrophobia!!)
I guess what decided it was the thought of another ride in an old landrover which was the way we went up on a zig-zag mountain track at what seemed to me to be a frightening speed. I did have, Ray, my knight in shining armour, with me, of course! My legs took a little while to recover.
this Is a wonderful capture Hazel love how you have taken a photo of this tunnel and how far It goes right the way down to the last light fantastic Fav. plus Ilike the cracks In the steps and the rugged wall Ither side
Oh this is perfect! What an interesting place. I'm glad Ray is always there to help. I'm almost convinced he is a really good guy. (Almost only because I look forward to more stories of proof.)
A wonderful long long shot all the way down through those stone walls...no wonder you were a little apprehensive! God job it was going down & not up, although it is surprisingly hard work going down hill, I can just imagine how jelly legged you felt after!!
Aliel, thank you and it was well done, indeed. (I even have to sit on the end of a row when I go to a concert hall, cinema, theatre!!!!)
Oh thank you Gerry - if I'd known beforehand that I had to do this, it would have been almost my worst nightmare!
Well, Dave, I can boast that I've done it but I can't see me doing it again - or anything similar!! Ray was surprised to say the least.
No not reborn! Just relief!
Thank you for your supportive (of everything) comments, as ever!
