a 'book' for writing in, not for reading............. by quietpurplehaze

a 'book' for writing in, not for reading.............

I feel privileged to have this opportunity on 365 to keep a photojournal. But it does not replace my diary I hand-write each night before the lights go out.
It's one part of my lifestyle management plan to keep well. It could be one sentence, but I usually write about half a page. It's just for me and when a book is full up it goes in the bin - it's not for posterity! Right now I have lovely pencils with heart shaped erasers which Ray bought me from the pound shop!
very beautiful Hazel

Oh, as a teacher of writing, I really appreciate this post (although, I am wishing nothing goes in the bin). I am using 365 as a writing project as my pen to paper habit has gone--I'm so glad that you are sticking with the process--I place it high on the list of wonderful things to do for one's self. Thanks for sharing!

Very pretty - not keeping them like your dad then?

I used to do a diary when the children were little & very interesting it is to look back on too. I admire your commitment Hazel!

This is a lovely idea but don't bin them, keep them or at least significant years, I kept one during my 50th year, not really for me but for my grand daughter

What a lovely idea, but what a shame not to keep your diary

What a lovely thing to do, to reflect the day , before you go to sleep. Nice shot and a lovely pencil

@judithg

Aha - I couldn't compete with that!

@claireuk @snowy @darylo

Thanks for your interest and comments. The therapy for me is in the writing and the 'books' are too inconsequential to be of interest to anyone else. The only time I have kept and used one afterwards is to look back and see what I did that led me to become ill. And it was just a chance that I had kept it.

Lovely idea but what a shame it goes in the bin. My husband has written a diary for 40 years and has kept them all!

@quietpurplehaze Well it is a complete personal choice, writing is very therapeutic and you clearly enjoy it:0)

I too started writing when i became ill... more poetry though, i find it resolves a lot of issues. I started with pen and note pad, i like the process and seeing the mistakes, the lines you can't undo. Nice little piece of you.

Fantastic Hazel - thanks for sharing, I'm glad it's helping you too :)

@sugarmuser

That's interesting, Sharon. I wrote one or two poems years ago but I'm not much good at that but I do agree that writing resolves a lot of issues. And there's something about one's own handwriting which a keyboard will never compete with.

How lovely. I love notebooks. I don't keep a diary but I have a Happy Book where I write down all the things that have made me happy that day.

@tryingforsighs

That sounds a lovely idea, Rachel, to have a Happy Book!
