Palace of Art

Did you ever get the feeling that something had turned out to be not quite what you thought it would be? We followed the signs (top right) to the Palace of Art in Bellahouston Park and when we got there, there it was. But in the notice on the window (bottom right - you may just see it) we read 'centre for sporting excellence' - not a painting in sight! I rather liked the building anyhow.

I just thought of googling this and have found this info: "The Palace of Art, also known as the West of Scotland Institute of Sport, is the last remaining building from the 1938 Empire Exhibition held in Bellahouston Park".
Oh how strange - and rather disappointing for art lovers but as you say - a nice bit of art deco.
