'weather'

The water in our little stream is perilously high. No chance of the house flooding because of the slope of the garden. But higher up the road, this same stream has actually become a river and has burst its banks flooding the main road where our close joins it.
Still raining here and blowing a gale.
How lucky to actually have a real stream in your garden...we have built one from the top pond to the bottom pond in our garden, but a real one WOW. Hasn't stopped raining here all day.....our pond is full to bursting!

I agree, you are lucky to have a stream in your garden . That has always been a fantasy since childhood. We didn't have a stream in our garden... until today. Now we have several :-)

@pixiemac

I understand it starts as a spring in the fields. I think we bought this house for the garden - a stream and a water butt!!!

@tryingforsighs

Haha! I do think this weather is getting a bit beyond a joke!

Wow. Looks like some serious water. Hope things get back to normal soon.

fine photos- but signs of too much heavy rain sadly!

Whoa! Grab your Wellies! While you're getting rain, we're getting loads of snow! Nice collage, and I hope it calms down for you soon! No floods allowed!

Stay safe, Hazel.

It's been wet but we are lucky not to have as much as you, keep safe!

Good captures Hazel, but an abysmal start to the year, eh? We have a lot of flooding in Kent also just now. Stay safe (and dry!)
January 1st, 2014
Oh my ... stay dry.

Pity people who do get flooded. It must be so awful
January 1st, 2014
Oh no , this doesn't look like the lovely little stream I saw before anymore. Hope the rain stopps and nobody gets flooded. That must be so awful
January 1st, 2014
Nice.

Thankfully the flood in the road disappeared by the end of the day and Ray has looked at our stream in the back garden this morning and the level is back to normal. Too many people have not been so lucky in the UK - hard to imagine your house and belongings destroyed by a flood.

@quietpurplehaze So true. have seen it on TV. So sorry for those poor people . Once, a year ago, it was 1mm beyond the doorstep high of our house . Our garden was complete flow over
