I've 'played' with this quite a bit: exposure, HDR, sharpening, clarity.

I love a bit of HDR myself Hazel & sometimes I felt I have spoiled pictures but I think here it does bring out the textures of the walls & gives depth to the passage way with it's 3D effect. Even if it wasn't right it's fun learning anyway.
