I've been to the vet's this morning to get Jinks his pedicure which the two dog-grooming ladies were unable to do (even with the aid of that halter thing they string them up with, his muzzle + my help when I arrived to pick him up!) He just flung himself about: they had already had a try to do his paws and I guess he was pretty fed up after 2 hours.
The vet is brilliant and also examined a little growth on Jinks' leg revealed by the short haircut and pronounced it to be a harmless wart.
So this haircut, which I don't really like, has cost me £50+ in total. We went for eggs after the vet's and for a walk and now I've had a cup of coffee and Jinks has had his lunch-time dentastix early (What can be in them that drives dogs crazy?!) And now I'm off to the zoo with my annual pass and my long-zoom camera, hoping for a close encounter with a giraffe. The alternative is to stay here and do a bit of light dusting, tidy up, make a list of stuff to take on our self-catering holiday. Well what would you do?!

Jinks looks like me in my younger days. O how I hated it to go to the hairdresser as he has only one coupe. But my Dad was strict. The cost was 45 cents in those day s.

Poor Jinks, he doesn't look happy, but he has cheered up by the last photo and is smiling again. He has had quite a traumatic time.
