Haze's strangers: No.41a: Tony

I'm hoping for some constructive criticism about these two portrait shots http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/365/2016-03-15

Is the background on this one too busy? Is the other shot too cropped?

I like the background and don't think it's too busy. Personally, I'd show a little more of his shoulders, even in this shot. Someday I'd like to do the 100 Strangers, but I'm afraid to ask people!

Beautiful clear portrait with nice catch lights in his eyes. I prefer this one over the too tightly cropped version. I don't mind the background but I might have cropped to place him more to one side instead of dead center. Just my opinion. I too love your project but am afraid to ask people.

I think the background is too distracting - I prefer a close crop. Still a great portrait and a fav

I think the background in this shot is too busy, it really takes away from the subject. I prefer the close crop. With the close crop though I would prefer to see just to the top of his hair and the bottom of his beard and a bit closer in on the left and right, close to his ears.

very brave of you to do 100 stranger profiles. you often don't have much choice with background, but you sure do have choice in crop. I would add a bit of shoulders, and not just the head.
Looking forward to seeing more
