@doblaine David - thank you for your great comments, as ever - the stream originates in a spring in the fields, flows through front gardens on the main road, our neighbour's side garden and via our back garden into the river.
@creativeamateur Olivia would soon be into the wide world here, not enough to swim in though.. Jinks actually escaped along the bank once when the stream was, unusually, in fully muddy flood & Ray had to don wellies to get him helped by the neighbour just returned from the supermarket with sausages. Jinks was running up and down the bank barking having a whale of a time.
