Mesmerising.......tranquil waters leading into turbulent falls being circumvented by the lone duck paddling with purpose. All the while the mirror image of life past is taking centre stage. Rather fine example of an artistic paradox!

@doblaine David thank you and especially for the FAV - I think you describe my shot beautifully. I was first inspired to take it by the wake following the duck but had to be quick as he was swimming quite swiftly. Hope you've had a good time.

@pyrrhula thanks for looking and your comments. I tried to get some shots of the birds wheeling overhead but I was not quick enough but I really liked this little duck and his determination!
