I came upstairs yesterday to get a better view of the sunset and found a complete bright rainbow. Unusually for me, I processed the shot a bit and then could see a ghost rainbow too. I think it's a bit lurid but it brightens up the day!
@quietpurplehaze
my rainbow was barely visible on the photo. There was a discussion on 365 earlier about there always being a double rainbow even though you can't always see it, and the colours are reversed but I haven't read up on it.
@purplehaze12 Oh that's interesting, thanks and if you can see the second rainbow on my shot here, it does look as if the colours are reversed. This is a good explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow
I saw a double rainbow last week but of course we were driving along, I hadn't got my Nikon with me only a P&S and Steve wouldn't stop anyway! It's sods law! Anyway this is lovely Hazel
@rosiekind I have only 2 point and shoot cameras and the older one has a sunset setting which I use for sunrise and sunset. But the new one has no such setting and I can't take sunsets etc at all with it - guess it's called progress!
wowza! a double rainbow. i hope you made a wish. i've not caught a proper rainbow yet. i did a really faint one in september and i had to do a bit of processing to make it show. i love rainbows and i love clouds. this is beautiful, hazel.
Thank you. I love rainbows and clouds too but think they are quite capricious to capture. Also I need to practise my processing! @summerfield@pyrrhula@vickisfotos
