'books'

Plenty of book shots in our house, but this morning I found these on the coffee table:

(I remember my fury years ago, when the headmistress at Clare's junior school requested 'coffee-table' books for a stall............)

top down:
CRM bookmark

La Luz del Faro: for 12 year olds which I'm reading to prepare for a new Spanish group;

Our Garden Birds: quirky, delightful, dip-into book;

Un recteur de l'Ile de Sein: for French Lit group;

French dictionary: to look up 'la chienlit' = havoc, chaos, and very true for Jinks' dog bed when he gives it 'what for' (plus other stuff which I shall not mention here on 365) after his tea.
A very educational coffee table read! :-)

Yes books will be an easy one here as well, so much so it might have to be a collage! Love the 'un-staged' quality of your shot

Hazel, something else we have in common then! Well, this was mostly unstaged, apart from taking one book out of the pile!

I just wish I could understand a bit more of that Spanish book for 12 year olds!!!

At my place, the 'coffee table' books are the ones I'm actually reading/using. Had to chuckle at Jinks' unmentionable behaviour. We had a dog that used to give the basketball special attention every night after dinner!

@quietpurplehaze Come on, share....what book did you remove??!!?
February 9th, 2013
Yes. My coffee table has opened envelopes and a drawing for a St.Pixels Event awaiting layers of gouache to, (hopefully), make it eye-catching.... I wonder whether that would make a good photograph....

@justine_x

It was a French novel I have just finished. The reason I removed it was
practical: because the lettering on the spine was in a different orientation from the other books. So the book would need to be upside down on the pile to read the title!!! (Hope you can understand this! I think you were thinking there was some other reason!!!!!))

@cmt2812

Yes I think that's the same for my 'coffee table' books - I thought the headmistress had other ideas of the definition of a 'coffee table' book!
Wonder why that doggy behaviour is always after dinner? No need for any answer!

Do you understand or write French ?
February 9th, 2013
@pyrrhula

Yes, my French is fluent. I haven't seen that on Facebook - but I don't look at it very often.....

@quietpurplehaze Now that would be a good idea for today. It doesn't look very interesting outside.
