We visited Itchenor on our week's Sussex holiday. I have since read that St Nicholas Church contains a copy of the original chart made of the shifting sands of Chichester Harbour. The pond is just along the road from the church and gives wonderful reflections of trees and kingcups.
Lovely images! I often cycled past this lychgate when I lived at West Wittering and my father worked at Itchenor, but I never went into the church. Must do that some time, I'm very fond of Itchenor.
Lovely diptych! Kingcups! I took a picture of those this week, but didn't post it. Wondered what they were! Thanks, Hazel! Your knowledge of flora is amazing! :)
I think it comes first, Julie, from being brought up a country girl with a dad and granddad who liked gardening, then second from being married to a husband who likes gardening. I love flowers but I don't like to work in the garden - just sit!!!
Ivan, thank you. I thought you would know it! Itchenor is kind of old-worldly to me - just the street of houses opposite each other near the harbour and then St Nicholas Church and the lovely pond, all very peaceful.
Thank you all. Just down the road from the church and pond, you can also visit Chichester Harbour so quite a good day for photos!
Ferry, thank you and thanks for all your continuing support on 365!

p.s. - and if I can't remember the name of any flower I just ask Ray!!!
