Oh WOW, this new camera even makes the puny grapes...
.... on our Bacchus vine look desirable. They won't be of course in a few weeks when they go mouldy as they do every year. Anyway not enough for even one bottle of wine but they are just nice to look at for a short time.
We had our main meal at lunchtime today as Ray has a tennis match this evening and I did have a glass of white - The Gooseberry Bush from South Africa - very palatable. This called for a small siesta, followed by several small moments of happiness each time I discovered something else on the camera. Have just come in from a walk with Jinks, who is flat out on the inside doormat, snoozing quietly (sometimes he snores).
So I now have the evening to myself to read my book, listen to some music, maybe even succumb to a bit of TV.
p.s. this was shot without macro (which I have now found) and is also sooc.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I can feel your excitement Hazel -- it's always so nice to have a new toy I have bought 2 new lenses & filters for my camera but haven't really had time to experiment with them yet !! !!
Beautiful sea of lime green with lovely grapes !! what a shame that they do not behave & flourish for you !!
These are looking so healthy Hazel, I cant believe they won't flourish. Have you thought of pruning off a few leaves here and there to ensure air flow through the vine? It could help reduce the mould threat. They are outdoors aren't they?
We did prune them last year following your advice and there are more bunches of grapes this year - so - I'll have a go at taking some leaves off, and will let you know what happens, thanks! Yes, outdoors in a tangle against the house wall with roses, winter jasmine etc! (Oh no I'm thinking as I write that this could turn into serious gardening!!!)
It all sounds exciting & a little bit of wonder when you find out something else it will do...enjoy & a good start Hazel!!
Grapes are a bit sour in this country I think mores the pity...not much of a wine country although I have had some good ones from down south recommended by @fannyb

Haha - it could be an optical illusion of course!

I like the idea of a bachelor evening! Of course there's Jinks following me about, sitting behind me when I'm here on the computer etc
