I like dahlias too for their colour & size but not too keen on the earwigs . A very large load of heads & petals Hazel...you must have had a big display!
Great find and lovely capture. I`m use to it. Nursery grows them for the bulbs, not for the flowers. And blooming and seeding is not good for growing bulbs

This grower also has another 5 acres where he grows dahlias and 'creates' new varieties.
Reminds me of home and childhood, dad used to grow them for market we used to walk on a carpet of flowers, right through summer and autumn as each variety of flowers became ready for cutting. He used to grow some for tubers and some for cutting.
This was in a field of dahlias at a specialist nursery!
