An Englishwoman Abroad - perhaps?

Looking through my photo files for a suitable shot to convert to b&w for the current architecture theme, I came across this one taken in a churchyard near Avignon.

I was interested to see an English name on this gravestone and then the title of Alan Bennett's play sprang to mind so I appropriated it for my title.
Very nicely composed Hazel. Works well as B & W for the theme.

Great composition, a very good candidate for a B&W shot too. Love that view.

@wendyfrost

It does look like sea but I think not as Avignon is quite land-bound.

I like the gravestones as architecture and for the theme. Wonderful B&W capture.

Much more thoughtful in B&W. Nice composition too and the lady's memory lives on. I like to spend a few days near Avignon in late Summer -- it's one of my favourite cities but I have never found a churchyard.

@traveller

Neither I nor Ray can remember exactly where it was unfortunately. Used to label everything, then got a bit bored but now, being on 365, I'm conscientious. This shot is from the bored of labelling period!
