We met this lady across the fields yesterday (you know, those fields where Jinks spent part of his one-night-stand escapade). She told us that she has to keep most of these dogs on the lead as they are 'rabbiters' and would be gone in a trice.
You may be able to see that the whippet in the foreground has a shaved patch and stitches; this is where he chased a deer and got caught on barbed wire. Out of sight of my shot is a beautiful German pointer which she rescued from Greece where it had had unbearably horrible treatment that I do not want to commit to keyboard.
I forgot to ask if they are all her dogs - I think she must be dog-walking as a little job.
I've been giving Jinks a carrot sliced in half lengthways lately, so now when he hears me chopping veg for dinner he comes expectantly into the kitchen. When I made the supermarket shopping list I found myself adding 'carrots' and thinking of Jinks. The power of dog.......Oh and he can't remember that a carrot only has two halves, not three!
posting for 'dog days' - I know it doesn't really mean that but if you can't take liberties after 3+ years...
The rabbiting dogs would love it here. We have lots and lots after some crazy English people thought it would be a great idea to release some into the wild here for the sport of fox hunting :). Let's just say it went as well as the introduction of the cane toad up north.
Ha! Looks like "Dog Days/Daze" to me! Poetic license What a nice lady to commit to these beautiful dogs as she does! Loving animals as we all do here on 365, it's unimaginable that a few people can be so callous. Keep giving Jinks lots of love'n'carrots! You could be doing worse ;)
Well your Jinks looks amazingly smart....perfectly qoiffed & groomed, I like the way he is giving those poor tied up dogs the eye!
She definitely has her hands full! Carrot will help Jinks see when he is out on the razzle at night!
A lovely dog shot I always admire how people handle more than 1 dog lead without getting tangled up. How unusual for Jinks to eat carrots but thenmy brothers dog used to steal and eat tomatoes from the greenhouse

Does Jinks know he is not supposed to like carrot so much!!. Its unusual but very good for him it must clean his teeth too!!
He sits and waits for apple too when we are eating one.
Thanks for you fav. on my Poppy pic. Very much appreciated
Well I feel OK about it now, thank you, Mary!
Yes, 6 dogs in total: 3 on lead (the rabbiters!) and 3 off lead. Takes me all my time to control Jinks on lead.
I think that sounds even more unusual!
