the back end of a bee

I hope you can just see him! He was all alone enjoying the hellebores in the winter garden at Hilliers Arboretum.

Despite having the macro lens on the camera and the a6000 supposedly having 'the fastest auto focus in the west' (according to you know who) I did not get a good shot of him. Some reviews do give the caveat that you need to be very close to your chosen macro subject with this lens and that certain insects might not take kindly to this.

But I'm already used to that with my X20 and have never (yet) been bitten or stung. Hope next time will be a better bee shot and I'm enjoying experimenting anyway.

Yes I can see him. He is probably saying "Does this flower make my bum look big".

Great macro Hazel. I was getting a little close to a wasp yesterday. Thankfully it didn't try to attack me.

Lovely capture Hazel unusual to see the bee in winter when it is so cold.

Wonderful action shot of this busy fellow! It's tough to get a picture of a moving insect, but I've never liked the idea of using dead specimens. Your camera really picked up the details here.
