...When first we practise to deceive"
Sir Walter Scott
I can hardly believe that my new a6000 (3 months old) has developed a blip and will not read the memory card. It has to be returned to Sony and could be away for a month. I feel as if I've lost a bit of me! (And I've treated it well, bought it 4 lenses and a deluxe case!!)
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Yes, it's annoying as this is the most expensive camera I've ever purchased, first time with interchangeable lenses - just glad I have old stalwarts to fall back on. I'm going to cheekily ask in the camera shop if they do a similar scheme to garages which give you a hire car when yours goes in for repairs!!
That is terrible news! I'd go crazy if I had to miss my camera for weeks. You really should ask the camera shop if you can have a loaner for the period your camera is in repair.
I had been reading reviews of the A6000 butwent for the EOS M instead, being a devoted Canon person. Shame that ti developed problems for you, definitely ask them to provide a temporary replacement, not at all cheeky, such things should be covered by the warranty (but are probably not). Personally I would threaten them with adverse publicity...
Shot - great, but terrible about your camera, my 60d had some issues, went back to Canon 3 times before it was great. Trouble is I never really 'loved' or trusted it after that :(
I do love the shot of the barbed wire, but I'm sad to hear about your camera. I have heard nothing but good reviews of it. I hope it is easy to fix. And I would ask for a replacement while it's being fixed too.
Hello again !! I have had issues and was not receiving any of your photos --hence a lack of viewing and commenting on your work -- Now I discover I no longer am following you --how this glip happened I do not know but now I am back following you !!
Sorry about your problems with your new camera ! Hope things will be resolved asap !! So upsetting and inconvenient !
I love your capture and caption -- but on my first glance it reminded me of the crown of thorns and so appropriate on Good Friday !
Hello Beryl - I've missed you and was starting to wonder if I'd done anything to upset you! These little blips seem to happen from time to time on here. I did not think of the crown of thorns (not being religious) I must admit but I 'see' it now. Hope you have a good Easter weekend. We shall just be quiet as usual, which is how we like it. I'm told the camera will be away from 2 to 6 weeks. Luckily I have 2 others! I asked for a 'courtesy camera' but no luck!!!
The ungrateful beast Hazel.......all those goodies to wear & it won't play ball! I suppose they are such complex machines that problems aren't uncommon. It will be as good as new when it comes back, if not they will have to replace it. I loved the Sony camera I had before I got my compact one but it was notorious for lens jamming apparently which is exactly what happened to mine. I am rough with my cameras just pushing them in my bag anyhow & not putting lens caps back on....I have a crack on my screen in the corner already but I expect you treat yours beautifully & look what you get......
Well, yes, I'm meticulous in looking after my camera - have just emailed Sony to ask if they will loan me one while mine is repaired as the camera shop were unable to do that - which I guess is understandable for a small shop. Anyway, worse things happen at sea - as the saying goes!

No luck with a replacement - I asked at the camera shop, I could write to Sony I guess. I've been so pleased with it up until now!
Well that's it - I understand and have already said to Ray that I'll have to take the Sony plus another on holiday just in case.
It's under guarantee so will be repaired free - only 3 months old.
