After the flying, time for a tasty snack for AJ, a great horned owl.
Thanks everyone for encouragement yesterday on my collage of AJ flying: http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/a-few-more/2015-09-05
Not my usual photography and in the end I felt a bit tangled up with: continuous shooting, HDR, shutter speed instead of aperture, AF lock etc and etc! You cheered me up.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Thanks for the kind words on my new project of 100 strangers :) . I think you should do it too Hazel, It would be good to have a 365'er to share the journey with. It's not that daunting, and I expect it will take me at least two and a half years to complete. You don't have to join flickr to do it, you could do your own thing on here and make your own rules :)
You are very persuasive. My main problem will be pacing myself as I have a tendency to 'rush' at things. I did join Flickr once - should have to re-activate my account. I'm having a serious think. (I notice I said 'will' not 'would' so perhaps I've already decided!) Good to have a project.
@quietpurplehaze I like the use of 'will'. Go at your own pace and take it steady . On my 50 monos I had a bit of a phojo dip half way in, but then you attend an event or occasion and you get a second wind and all enthusiastic again. I look forward to your first stranger appearing soon :)
Away for a few days next week so should be ops then. I think I'll do my project here as you suggested (if I expand my already extensive photography time elsewhere, other stuff will suffer!) My rules will just be 'stranger' + ' a bit of info to put the shot in context'. Do you think that sounds OK? Do you send email pics to your subjects?
@quietpurplehaze your rules are fine hazel and on here is fine too. 365 is my main photosharing place. My "better shots" make it to Flickr , because Flickr seems to be the main photosharing site on the web. That said Flickr is so vast you can get lost in the millions of images
I am thinking of getting some little cards printed to give to the peozple and tell them to contact me if they want a copy. I have printed a couple of prints and given them to the strangers ( the programme sellers at the football) and they were pleased. I was also contacted via Flickr by one of the Nottingham Pride people I photographed ( a male to female transgender person) who had seen her picture on Flickr. She was thrilled to see the picture and I sent her two copies (one mono one colour) and she has used them as her profile pic on her social media sites :-)
Oh I've gone a bit overload with my Steampunk pics on here...more to post yet . I am worried I am posting too many and losing the impact, but only 1 has made it into my 100 strangers
Rosie, thank you. I did enjoy taking this one - apart from having to look at his tea time treat!

The idea of cards is good - might do the same.
