A few days ago, a memory flashed into my mind of a voluntary photography project which I undertook for a local charity in 2006/7.
The charity was being re-named and the brief was to visit their various activities and take photos to be used in new leaflets etc.
I had a Fuji A405 p&s, my first camera, and used it on auto and really knew nothing about its operation, nor about guidelines to getting good photos and my only post processing knowledge was crop. I made a CD of all the pics I took also printed them out, copies of everything for the charity and for me. Here's a very small selection.
I can't remember anybody refusing to have their photo taken and I'd never met anybody before. So I guess it was a good experience to take forward to undertake my current project of portraits of strangers.
Pat, thank, you. It's hard to describe adequately the satisfaction photography has given me in recent years, most of my life being focused on language - I still love that too of course.....
lots of happy smiles for you haze, I particularly like the gentleman sat upright in his chiar. A nice trip back in time to your early days of digital photography
Phil, he was in a room of older folk all sitting round in a circle in their armchairs - I took a photo of every one! How strange that I had forgotten about this and that the recollection was suddenly triggered by the current project.
