Gail was sitting on a folding chair in the sunshine reading Winston's Graham's 'The Four Swans' as we walked along by the Hamble last weekend.
She was sitting beside her vehicle which she had parked on the foreshore, tailgate open, boot filled with jars of jam, pickles, bottles of sauces etc, everything so colourful. She usually sells her wares, all home-made by herself, at a market stall, but on such fine days, she sometimes takes her produce to this location.
We bought a jar of Gail's local clear honey because some of the chicken and fish recipes which Neil cooks at home have honey as an ingredient and I forgot to put it on the supermarket list last week
Gail was happy to have her photo taken; I've emailed her a copy.
The light was harsh at mid-day with quite deep shadows in the car boot, so I put the camera on hdr setting.
Great shot Hazel. The people that you've photographed so far, seem to really connect with you. They don't look like strangers to me. It looks like you're taking pictures of friends and family. Nice work.
I love the close up of Gail but would prefer it without the bottles on the right as they distract your eye from the gorgeous photo of Gail. I would just crop this 'portrait' orientation minus the large bottles. I am sure Gail will be pleased with the photos you have taken of her.

Kerry, thanks for saying that - very nice to know!
Pat, remember I've done 12 and I actually commented to Ray last night that I can see how they have improved from the first ones.
That's really great feedback - thank you all.
Thank you - I sort of have the feeling that I'd like to go back and do that one again.
Lisa, thanks - interesting.
