The sea is invisible but it's there to the right of the shot. I thought this shot, originally in colour, had quite good shapes and textures for conversion to b&w.
Converted in FastStone to greyscale and given an added bit of contrast. When I have the Batdorff, which Neil is getting for me as a late Christmas gift (because I couldn't think what I might like at the time) I shall perhaps be a bit more adventurous in my processing to b&w.
Plus Ray and I are off to Eastbourne for a few days beside the seaside (mad or what in the depths of the most inclement month of the year) so hopefully I'll have some new land/seascapes!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Lovely photo and the lone figure really adds to the shot. Have a lovely time in Eastbourne and I am sure the bracing weather will blow the cobwebs away.
A lovely tranquil scene , sharp variant from the very dark black to the light silver grey .Love the figure giving a sense of scale and an interest to the scene . Lucky you ,off to Eastbourne , hope the winds will only blow the cobwebs away -- Enjoy !
Look out for my in-laws they are in Eastbourne on a coach trip this week ☺
It would he TOO funny if I approached one of your in-laws for a strangers' portrait?! For Batdorff see http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/27112/flash-of-red-february-returns
