purple pulsatilla in a pot

I was not at all happy reading, in yesterday's newspaper, about those horrendous-sounding Spanish slugs which are apparently heading our way. English ones give me the creeps.

I think slugs are so ugly poor things, who would love a slug! I hope they stay well away & no climbing up your follower pots!

Beautiful purple shot Hazel. What you need to get rid of slugs are blue tongue lizards and kookaburras. They will clean up your garden.

Slugs are absolutely gross! I've been told that a shallow dish of beer will take care of them. They love the smell, climb in and basically burn up in the alcohol. I think I'd rather squish them- slowly burning to death seems cruel even for a slug.
