third encounter
This is my artist friend, Don.
I first met him in Winchester Cathedral, doing a painting of the west window. I took his portrait for my strangers' series.
Our second encounter was outside when he was painting the avenue of trees leading to the cathedral.
The third time was this weekend and Ray was with me. I introduced him & Don.
"Oh", said Don, "I didn't KNOW that Hazel had a husband. I just thought she went round chatting up the men and taking their photograph."
I think (hope) Don was joking!
I like the slightly comic aspect of this shot. btw this acrylic painting is already sold.

Amusing isn't it, that what I see as friendliness (with ulterior motive of course!) is seen as something else - albeit jokingly?!

I was also 'apparently' in trouble for putting in my text accompanying his strangers' portrait that, because he was out and about painting all day, his wife liked him to talk to her in the evenings!!!!
