We met for lunch in Winchester today. I just took my new RX100 in my handbag to hopefully get some shots for a competition 'my town' afterwards.
I couldn't resist asking for a portrait shot of Anne to see how the camera did. She was quite impressed. (I think a new camera could be on her shopping list before her trip to India in the autumn.)
Lunch was very nice and it didn't rain all the time and we even saw the sun - a little bit.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
@quietpurplehaze I would love a smaller camera. Will check it out on Amazon as your camera shows up here. Still learning the a6000. I have spent a lot of time on you tube. How do you like it?
I like both my Sony cameras. This new one is RX100 Mark 4, v expensive. The RX100 Mark 3 is cheaper and also takes brilliant shots - I've seen some taken with it.
@quietpurplehaze It is not in my budget but a camera worth looking at. I am sadly still learning. I have not taken many photos at all. Need to get outside and take some soon.
I guess I could have got Anne to sit further to the right but then the light from the side window could have been a problem. I quite like the view of the staircase on the left but that's an interesting comment, Chris, thanks.
We have met anne before on your photostream Haze . I remember her lovely smile :) . This is an excellent portrait, lots of detail and very full on (in a nice way)
Maybe collaboration!
Yes, Darlene, the smallest compact I've ever owned. It's for holidays. The menu is almost identical to the a6000. It's very good!

P.s. The menus on these RX 100 are like the a6000 - so nothing new to learn.

Hope David will like it - what has he got?
I always welcome comments especially if it's something that's not occurred to me!
