Many thanks again for all the birthday wishes. Today's the day. Before I got up I remembered my recent discovery that my new little RX100 has one of those versatile selfie screens.
So I had a try.
I got to thinking the other day what it was like for my mum & dad a week or so before Christmas 1946 having a new baby in their little cottage in Paper Mill Lane in the rural village of Claydon in Suffolk.
He had then been back 18 months from time in PoW camps. Whilst he was away, she had been at home, doing work in the Women's Land Army in the Suffolk countryside waiting, wondering, and worrying no doubt, like many other women.
Excuse my musings. Must be the effect of starting another decade ...
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I drive through Paper Mill Lane on a regular basis, to and from Ipswich! It hasn't changed that much over the years. I hope you've enjoyed your birthday break, more memories in the making.
Ah I can reckon up, it is a special birthday! You look much better than I did this morning first thing when I was skyping NZ, I looked a mess with my sore nose ready for a cut hair & bleary eyes! Happy happy birthday Hazel.
Gillian, many happy returns!!
The world is so small!
I haven't been too happy with the numbers of this birthday - but nothing to be done & I'm getting used to it!!!!
Pat, thankyou!
