The story behind this tapestry is that a ladies' clothes shop in a nearby market town had trouble selling their lease so, in the interim, rather than waste the space, the owner went to India and bought some lovely items to sell.
I happened to see this and now it graces the wall in our living room.
p.s. The tapestry does actually hang straight on the wall but when I went to take the shot, I found Ray and Jinks installed on the sofa watching TV so I had to be careful not to include them too!

Oh Hazel it is so beautiful. I bet it is quite a conversation piece at your home. I would love to see it in real life, so much work has gone into making it I am sure
Red, pink and orange...a vibrant selection of colours with rich palettes beyond. The beads, sequins and embroidery leave me gasping...with admiration...for more. How fortunate I am to see the beauty that others share here. Long may it continue!
Your comment is very interesting, not least because I described this tapestry in my other shot as 'mainly red' and have always thought of it as that. But I realise it is not mainly red at all! I do love it.
