I find that 'The Book' trips off the tongue more easily than 'Till We Meet Again: Gunner Bert Martin: 1941-45'.
On this day in 1942, my dad had been a PoW for just one month. He wrote:
"On Tuesday 21st July, all our particulars were taken, names, numbers etc. We were told that this information was to be forwarded to Rome where it would be broadcast to England. I cannot yet say if my people received my name as I have had no mail."
My photo of Brother John was taken in the Master's garden of the Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty. He is one of 25 Brothers who live there.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I am sure he will enjoy the book. I am halfway through reading it. a bit slow at the moment because the only chance I get to read right now is when I go to bed and before too long I fade to black.
Thank you and I'm so glad the book is being shared.
