Time for lunch in the pub at Thorpeness. The names and dates on the wall are not to do with the deceased but are names of the members of the Marmalade Club and the year each one was Commodore of the club.
Nothing to do with Paddington, I think, but as far as I can gather it is a club which exists for jolly japes for gentlemen.
I wonder if this is The Dolphin? We used to go there with Chris' children for their summer Sunday bbqs! Also have a go on the nearby boating lake!! Looks cosy and ready for a happy group! The marmalade club has a Facebook page but not a lot of info about their activities.
This is the type of table I would make for straight away! I love those cosy bench type seats with cushions on, this looks a great place! A querky marmalade club too, sounds perfect to me! We need this type of place to flourish!
It may well be! Ray says the marmalade Club is a yachting club....
The only time I didn't reserve a table recently because the pub in question is always half empty, I found it full up and we were lucky to get a table!
