cupcake anyone

Today I have been privileged to chat online with Lesley Dolphin of BBC Radio Suffolk about my dad's recently published wartime diaries.

The 10 minute conversation is currently available on iPlayer Radio - Listen Again - 11/12/2017 - starting about 1 hour 24 mins into the program.

Just flagging it up as I know some of my 365 friends have been interested in the book.

Just listened to you interview, Hazel, and it was a lovely interview and you must be very proud of your dad. It is so wonderful for you to also have a written record of what he went through during the war. Congratulations on the diaries being published.

@mittens

Thank you so much, Marilyn for your comments and for your interest. It's all a bit surreal still as I tried so long to get the diaries published and had all but given up hope of so doing.

Peter, thank you. It was a good interview and Lesley Dolphin was great. The only thing is that I had trouble recognising my own voice!

Thank you everyone for taking an interest and leaving comments. I had to make a conscious effort to be clear and concise in the interview because when I get excited, I tend to talk too much and too fast! Ray kept in the room with me ready to make a secret sign if that happened! Doing the interview was much easier than the anticipation of doing it. (I think a phone interview adds an extra difficulty - you can't work on visual cues in a conversation.)

Beautiful and colourful at the same time. Your interview was great and so clear. I had to promote a charity once and as much as I am used to standing up and talking to people with my job I agree that the radio is something else.
