In the fruit & veg store, I could not locate the chillies. When I went to pay for my other produce I asked the gent behind the counter.

'Here,' he said pointing just in front of him. 'How many do you want? 50p's worth?'

'OK, I said.

When he came to put my 2 bulbs of fennel in my bag, he magicked another, only slightly damaged, and put that in too.

The last item I had was a piece of root ginger and he had started totting up before he noticed it so put that in for free.

Not a bad shop. I did think of asking for a portrait but had left the camera in the car and somehow it did not seem the right time.
