We both expected to find a low-key country-church-like interior in the church at Sandringham but instead found a painted ceiling and a pulpit clad in beaten silver.

I was born and bred in Kings Lynn and went to Sandringham several times but I never went into the church. Wow. Thanks Hazel for showing me what I was missing.
My pleasure! ( The only event of note in Kings Lynn yesterday as we drove through was a billow of evil black smoke and, subsequently, 3 fire engines racing to the scene, fire in a flat I read online).
Lovely. I will never forget my son having a tantrum at Sandringham in front of lots of people! I calmly carried him out and it stopped him but everyone looked at him as they came out!
