When we went out to go for a swim (no jokes, please!) and do the supermarket shopping, there was a large puddle at the end of our close.
When we came back, this is what we found. I did feel a bit anxious, bearing in mind that just behind me to the left is our house, with a drive which slopes down quite a bit from the road.
Ray assured me it wouldn't happen and, thankfully, it hasn't and the water has already receded.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Gosh that must have been worrying. Fortunately, our house stands up higher than the rest of the garden although our pond is fast becoming a lake. We don't really have a pond it's just that the rain has created one!
You first frighten me. Glad it is n`t as bad as it looks like. Seen Wales on the news and I feel so sorry for the people there. Hope it soon will be gone and over.
This morning it was fine, then it poured with rain, now it's fine again but very windy. I'm going to the hairdresser's this afternoon - hope it won't be a total waste of time!
Tomorrow is promised a fine day and I might see if Ray will come with me to Winchester to get some shots of the floods there. It feels a bit voyeuristic but a chance to record a historic event..........................
What a job to get Jinks out for a walk yesterday. First he ran and hid under the dining room table, then when Ray flushed him out from there he ran up and sat at the top of the stairs. Useless to go after him as he would just get under a bed where he knows we can't get him! We had to wait until later in the day when it had stopped raining - Jinks is not stupid!
H dear! I had a moment here on Wednesday - we had a waterfall stream and pond in the back garden which were not there when I went to work. Within an hour the water was up to he back step.
And you, Graham.
Thanks everyone.
We are fine now but it's blowing a howling gale and more rain isforecast. When will it stop?!!

It's OK, no danger to life or limb - I'm a scaredy cat anyway!
