Last night we got 20 centimeters of wet snow and this little guy seemed dwarfed by the heavy snow on the branches. The one thing that caught my attention were the tiny twigs that seemed to frame him perfectly!
Thank you for your comments and favs on the Pileated woodpecker from yesterday.
When I saw all the snow, I figured it had to be a picture from your neck of the woods. Poor little birdie, surrounded by yet more snowflakes. And yes, it's perfect how he's framed in by the branches.
@terryliv Yes I am Terry.............just trying to make the best of a white situation.
This is the longest winter in many years.
Spring should be right around the corner............I hope.
@kathiecb it is a local...it's a goldfinch just coming into breeding colours.
My son got really lucky then as he didn't run into any snow as he went around the north route on Hwy 11 to get to Borden. I am happy to say that we are having very nice weather presently....hope it heads your way.
Lovely shot...and so nicely framed.
