LOL. Great shot and story. Well played. Fav
Did you know the largest beaver dam in the world is in Wood Buffalo National Park in Northern Alberta. It's 2790 feet long. I heard it on CBC Radio so it must be true. š
Excellent narrative! So well worded. Way better that "lean-to, water in the basement, recycled building materials". Lucky beavers have their home in a beautiful place.
@vignouse if you paddle up to the lodge in the spring you can actually hear them talking underneath their pile of wood......their rooms or compartments are above the water but under the wood. As you paddle around the lodge you will often see them swimming particularly in the early morning and in the early evening when you get to close they will smack the water with their tail and dive underwater. It is not uncommon to see them swimming up to their lodge with a large aspen branch in their mouth which they will then eat. The problem with the beaver is that they will cut down an entire tree the diameter being around 12 inches just to get out several branches.
cute narrative! We have a hug lodge at the lake by me too. Very interesting to watch it grow...I have actually only seen the beaver once and had to get up really early to see it

If you are interested in seeing a beaver in the wild I posted one in my extra-challenges album. http://365project.org/radiogirl/extras-challeng/2014-10-22
