Christmas tradition

I first made these cookies early in our marriage. Since then, my husband has asked me to make them again every Christmas. He calls them "reindeer turds." You can see I've made notes in the cookbook so I could double the recipe and use some different ingredients.
I love this type of a cookie. My kind of cookie for sure. Great recipe.

LoL! over what your husband calls the cookies. Our family has a number of foods with alternate names, ones I wouldn't want company to hear for fear of what they were about to be served. If we're lucky here on 365, we might get to see a photo of your finished 'reindeer turds'. (hint-hint)

@lindamp5 @digitalrn @jamibann @peterlgrave @novab @craftymeg @pyrrhula @lyndemc Thanks to all of your for viewing and commenting. Short responses to some of your comments. I love these cookies. I've always loved the citron and candied fruit in fruit cake. If you don't, you might not like these cookies. I'll try to remember the camera when I get around to making and baking these cookies.

This is the sign of a great recipe--marked up from use over the years!

@brillomick Mickey, I usually use pecans. They seem to be more readily available and I like them a little better, too. If you'd like to have the recipe, I'd be happy to send it to you. Just let me know.
@pyrrhula That's huge!
@cejaanderson I have it bookmarked - for real! Thanks Jane.
