This is the librarian who organized the needlework groups at two of the libraries in the county. Today was her last day with us as she's going to get to be a stay-at-home mother for a few years anyway. She's holding a temari made by one of the group members for her and is also wearing the cowl I made her. (if you're interested, see http://365project.org/randystreat/365/2016-02-22)
@cejaanderson Temari are Japanese. They were toys originally. My friend who makes them spends a lot of time winding threads to make the base (ball) then stitches the pattern onto the base. She loves math and the patterns are mathematical. I admire these and the skill that goes into them greatly. @aponi It was a fun party. @jamibann Thank you. She is so nice and so friendly and so smart. I will miss her. @shazzym Thank you Shazzy. She smiles a whole lot. @craftymeg Thank you. @pyrrhula I think so too but it's amazing how many people don't appreciate hand made things. Thank you for your comments.
