Happy New Year. Mom always made sausage rolls and mince meat tarts for Thanksgiving day fare. Unfortunately I didn't have any mince meat, but I did make the sausage rolls. They were so good!
Learning to use my new 1.8/35mm lens. It's going to take some getting used to!
Excellent Kathy, you now have another photographic choice to make - where to place the focus plane. We can compare notes this month as we are both using the same effective focal length. You've made a good start - Fav.
Great shot. Love the bokeh in the background. I, too, got a 1.8/35mm lens for early Christmas present. It is awesome for low light!! Look forward to seeing how you use it. Happy New Year!!
@kwind Thank you. The new lens contribulted to that immensely. @janetb Thank you Janet. @pcarlaw Thank you Peggy. I'm looking forward to "playing" with it more. @vignouse Thank you Richard. Of course I had to stop and research this difference between DoF and focus plane. I never really looked at the focus horizontally across a scene before. It is definitely something to keep in mind. @jamibann Thank you Issi. It something new to get used to. @thewatersphotos Thank you Gary. Hope you are enjoying your new lens. We will discover its capabilities at the same time. @craftymeg Thank you Margaret @s4sayer Thanks Margo. Were you referring to the baking or the lens. Haha! I don't know much about either, I'm afraid. Pie dough from the refrigerator case at the grocery store is about as fancy as that goes.
