#27 2017

The robins are passing through and the daffodils are budding. It's January 27. It can't be spring yet!
It's mild here too! Your robins look so different than ours.

Wow- robins and daffodils! I guess that means Punxatawney Phil is going to see his shadow (or not- whichever one means Spring is only 6 weeks away- you'd think I'd know this by now!).

Are you serious? Robins and blooms already? It has been a mild season. It was colder back in late fall than it has been so far this winter. At this point it might as well just stay mild and an early spring arrive. (That robin looks chunky!!)

Nature is always full off surprices. Great shot of this lovely robin.

Am fascinated by your robins, they're quite different to ours. We tend not to see ours in Spring/Summer, but in evidence the rest of the year.

@overalvandaan @tosee @olivetreeann @lyndemc @pyrrhula @thewatersphotos @ziggy77 @skstein @miata2u @s4sayer Sorry for the brief break. Thank you for your views and comments. It turned cold again so everything is set back. @s4sayer The robins here are much different than the ones I've seen posted from the UK. Maybe you live where they go when they go "south" for the winter

@randystreat Robins are territorial and don't take other robins' presence on their patch very well. However our garden is large to support 3 robins, (ground feeders), without avian warfare. The robins don't leave, rather I think they act more 'strategically', foraging on the ground whilst the mini flocks of blue tits and greenfinches could be compared to the Battle of Britain as they swoop, dive, dart and try to outdo one another on the 6 nut, seed and fat ball feeders. It's a daily show of fascinating behaviour and derring-do.

@s4sayer I love to watch the birds. The robins, when they are around, act in the same way and actually don't usually come close to the garden or feeders.
