These two were meandering through the yard. I believe the white one is a peahen. Not sure about the green one. Will have to be more attentive to the spurs, because it could still be an immature male, although females do spread their feathers in this manner. The lady wasn't interested in the other one at all.
It's not everyday you see peacocks wandering through your yard! Did they wander away from someone's farm? Fun catch for you although I understand they can be quite noisy.
@wakelys There are two with the blue-green bodies and they are beautiful in the right light. @pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. The one was definitely strutting his stuff that evening. @jb030958 Jennie, one's a young peacock and the white one's a peahen. They wander over periodically. @olivetreeann They live in the yard behind me. They are noisy, but not so bad. I guess I've gotten used to them and I enjoy seeing them. I know my husband was annoyed with them. He spent time at this house puttering around before we moved in. @thewatersphotos Even if I don't see them I usually hear them Gary. @kwind Thanks Kim. @jamibann Thank you Issi. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian @grammyn Thanks Katy. @pusspup I think they were relatively dry. It had quit raining for awhile. Sorry about your white one. @craftymeg Thanks Margaret. @hajeka They make a lot of noise at times Henk-Jan. Thanks.
@cocobella Thanks Corinne. I found a long tail feather on the other side of the house this afternoon. That means the guy with the long tail has been joining these two in their expeditions.
@summerfield They usually don't wander through my yard. I've had photographed some of the livestock this family has kept in the past two years, but feel a bit like a stalker shooting across the back fence. I really don't have much of a relationship with these neighbors so when I do it, it's a bit surreptitious.
We had a white lady like this too, but the foxes got her while sitting, so sad:(
