Get Pushed Challenge 473
My get pushed partner this week suggested DIY filters. I found this to be an interesting and fun challenge.
Filters used: top left, clear plastic wrap; top right, gauze; bottom left, plastic wrap colored with felt tip pens; and bottom right, fuzzy yarn.
@linnypinny Thank you Lin. @wakelys Thanks Susan. I'd like to try the gauze again, but get it a bit in focus. @grammyn Thanks so much Katy. I got most of my ideas from the internet. Kali got me started with her link at the time she issued the challenge. It takes a lot of Vaseline, btw. @olivetreeann Yes, I looked for some with vibrant colors, but evidently it's hiding in my stash. Not sure if the fuzzy-ness or the color was the best attribute for this challenge. Thanks so much Ann. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you Jackie. @summerfield Yes the bokeh was a surprise. Must have been a big glob of Vaseline and the light hitting it just right. Thanks you Vikki. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. I like it too. @haskar Thanks so much Hannah. @pusspup Thank you Wylie.
Hi Kathy, we’re get pushed partners this coming week. How do you like to do some lighting like Rembrandt lighting is a genre all of its own https://expertphotography.com/rembrandt-lighting-photography/ . If you want something else please let me know.
Now I’m intrigued about the Vaseline, there was no mention of using it in your write up about what you used but it got mentioned in your replies. What did you do with it?
@jacqbb I will try this. (nice indoor shot during this hot weather) Thank you. @kjarn (and @summerfield) my bad. That was plastic wrap in TL photo. But I did use vaseline on some shots. Those weren't as nice as these. I put a piece of plastic wrap across the lens, held in place with a rubber band, and smeared vaseline around the edges.
