I had a free pass to the Photoshop Summit and watched several videos this afternoon. I can see them for 48 hours after they aired so some were due to expire today. Several were very good and a couple were way over my experience and need. But all were interesting. Photoshop is such a huge tool! Maybe next year I'll pony up for the VIP pass and watch them more leisurely.
@olivetreeann It is a challenge and I'll never be proficient. But I learn a bit more everytime I "study up" on it. @thewatersphotos It's not easy. I did start in PS Essentials which was a bit easier especially because it didn't have as much to offer. @shutterbug49 Thanks. I learn a bit more each time I read something or watch a video on it. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Yes, you can really crank up a photo that way. (BTW the sky in today's photo is mine taken at the same time in the same frame as the photo I posted.) @jamibann Thank you Issi. @pusspup The program is huge. I haven't tried the sky replacement yet, but have done the select subject. I learned some tips on that. I wrote them down, just hope I can remember them. @kjarn Yes, those who are proficient are very creative. I do know that from the time I started messing with post processing I've never looked at a photo the same way. (Is it real or is it photoshopped?) @wakelys Thanks. Photoshop is difficult for many reasons. I'm always learning something new and Adobe is always tweaking it. @mirroroflife Yes, it's time consuming, especially when one is trying something new. @mccarth1 One of the speakers talked about all the stuff that could be removed from the program because it's not needed anymore with the updated tools. I also heard that there is much available on PS that really isn't about photography. It's graphic artists, videographers, web page makers who use those tools. @granagringa you have a few more hours to get to Thurs and Fri's speakers. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry.
